Audiology Grand Rounds is a monthly educational series lead by audiology. Lectures cover a wide range of cutting edge and innovative topic areas related to the evaluation, and treatment of hearing loss, tinnitus, and vestibular/balance disorders for patients across the lifespan.

Communication Grand Rounds is an educational lecture series by speech pathology. Lectures cover a range of topics related to evaluation and treatment of communication disorders. International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) CEU credit are awarded for one's participation.

At Duke Voice Care Center Clinical Rounds, our speech pathologists, laryngologists and medical residents meet regularly to discuss information and research findings relevant to voice evaluation and treatment.  The purpose of these rounds is to increase the voice care team’s clinical knowledge, thus improving patient care and optimizing treatment outcomes. 

Recent topics include: Myofascial Release; Respiratory Muscle Training; Hormones and the Voice; and Aspects of Successful Voice Therapy.

Duke Voice Care Center has provided ASHA CEU’s for certified SLP’s at our annual Voice Enhancement Workshop, such as the 2015 Workshop on Contemporary Singing Styles (2.25 ASHA CEUs). Visit the Duke Voice Care Center Events website for information on upcoming CEU events. 

Dysphagia Grand Rounds is an educational lecture series by speech pathology. Lectures cover a range of topics related to evaluation and treatment of dysphagia in adult and pediatric populations. International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) CEU credit are awarded for one's participation.

The Duke Voice Care Center team regularly provides education regarding voice evaluation and treatment for department faculty, fellows, residents, medical students, and other care providers at Head and Neck Surgery & Communication Sciences Grand Rounds. 

Recent lectures by DVCC team members include: Interpretation of Videostroboscopy; TEP Complications and Post-Op Protocols; and Spectral & Cepstral Measurement of Dysphonia.

The “Lunch and Learn” series is a monthly discussion series where medical professionals from Duke and other institutions present information or research findings related to speech pathology and audiology.

The series takes place during the lunch hour, so staff and faculty members are encouraged to bring their lunch and learn how to improve clinical practice.

During the COVID-19 pandemic our ability to have graduate students has been limited. To continue our commitment to training the next generation of speech pathologists we are offering a weekly lecture series to graduate students.

This recurring lecture series is held for three hours on Saturday mornings at Duke. Participants can earn 0.3 IACET CEUs per session. Four lectures are held per year.

Duke Speech Pathology and Audiology staff and outside speakers present topics to Duke staff and members of the community. The information is functional and practical, with opportunities for hands-on practice, discussion, and small group interaction. The goal of the series is to share advanced practices, provide inexpensive CEUs, and network with professionals in the community.

Duke Vestibular Disorders Clinic hosts monthly Vestibular Grand Rounds. This is a multi-disciplinary meeting that includes physicians, residents, fellows, and allied healthcare providers from multiple departments including Audiology, ENT, Physical Therapy and Neurology. The purpose of this meeting is to share challenging cases and get multidisciplinary input from diagnosis to treatment plan, collaborate on research ideas, and stay up to date on literature and current best practice in the field. The overarching goal of this continuing education series is to create a learning environment that promotes excellent care for patients with dizziness and balance disorders.
