Duke Speech-Language Pathologist Participates in Alumni Career Fair at Western Harnett High School

Meredith Dickens, M.S., CCC-SLP from Duke University Hospital, participated in the Alumni Career Fair at Western Harnett High School in Lillington, NC, located in Harnett County.

Meredith spoke to high school students about the field of Speech Pathology and her work at Duke University Hospital, aiming to generate interest in healthcare opportunities among these young students.“It was a great event and a really rewarding opportunity to share what I love about this field and my job with students, many of whom had no prior exposure to the field,” Meredith shared.

Community Engagement is the fourth pillar of the Head and Neck Surgery & Communication Sciences department’s mission. Our Community Engagement program is a crucial component in connecting with people from all walks of life in our community and beyond through partnerships and education.
