Patient Care - Laryngology

Voice is central to human communication, social interaction, identity, and may be critical for professional success. Having a healthy voice is important for everyone, whether you are a professional singer, teacher, or salesperson, or simply like to read aloud to your grandkids.

Swallowing and breathing are also vital life functions and problems in either area can be life-threatening and lead to significant reduction in quality of life.

Prevention of voice injuries is a core element of Duke Voice Care Center’s mission. The Division of Laryngology is a leader in promoting vocal health awareness and education at our annual World Voice Day celebrations and hundreds of individual vocal health education activities across the state and region.
