The Duke Head and Neck Surgery & Communication Sciences team volunteered at the Mobile Free Pharmacy event with Wake County organized by NC Med Assist on May 18th. This event was held at the First Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC.
During the event, Susan Bell, CMA II, Sherry Degroot, CMA II, and Tami Runyan, PA-C, spent time with attendees, providing information about ENT medications, screenings, and the conditions our providers address at clinics in Raleigh and Durham. They also answered questions and offered educational support.
The Mobile Free Pharmacy provides individuals and families who are low-income with free over-the-counter medicine. NC MedAssist collaborates with community partners to organize free events throughout the state. Individuals receive items that include, but are not limited to pain relief, cold and cough medicine, allergy, digestive, vitamins, and even children’s medicines. The primary purpose of this event is to identify participants that may qualify for the free prescription pharmacy program.
