Clinical and Research Interests
I was drawn to ENT due to the diversity of subspecialities and the impact that one can make on varied facets of quality of life. Improving health equity in the ENT subspecialties of rhinology and head and neck surgery is crucial to ensuring all patients receive timely, and high-quality care regardless of their background. This involves expanding access to advanced diagnostics and minimally invasive procedures for patients, addressing disparities in cancer treatment with a focus on early detection, providing culturally sensitive patient education, and equitable access to surgical interventions and post-operative care. My research interests lie in medical innovation, Technology, Health Equity, and Global Health.
What were you looking for in a residency program?
When considering residency programs, I sought a program that would not only provide excellence in surgical and clinical training, but also help to cultivate my clinical and research interests and associated passions during my time in residency. Duke has provided that for me, as on campus we have access to worldwide leaders and programs in global health, collaborations with the Law School, School of Public Policy, Business School, and School of Engineering. Any endeavor that I would like to pursue, I am confident I can find the tools, resources, and support to be able to do so.
What do you like best about living in Durham and the Triangle?
As a foodie, I am excited about the established and up and coming restaurants and eateries. As someone who loves to travel, there is quick and easy access to the airport. I love the nature, and the many trails to explore. And of course- all of the wonderful people I have met while living here!
What do you like to do outside of Duke?
I like to bake cakes and pastries. I enjoy staying active at the gym, or through classes such as Orange Theory or yoga.
What advice do you have for incoming interns?
Stay organized, take care of yourself, embrace all learning opportunities and enjoy the journey!
