A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held during the Surgery Office of Clinical Research (SoCR) Open House on February 25. Dr. Julie Thacker, Medical Director of the SoCR, cut the ribbon, overseen by Beth Hollister, RN, Research Practice Manager; Ellen Burkett, Mary Beth Davis, and Christy Walters, Assistant Research Practice Managers; Dawn Dempsey, Finance Practice Manager; Mindy Guzman, Administrative Coordinator; and members of the SoCR staff.
The SoCR supports multiple divisions in the Department of Surgery, including Emergency Medicine, Trauma and Critical Care Surgery, Urology, Head and Neck Surgery and Communication Sciences, Metabolic and Weight Loss Surgery, Abdominal Transplant Surgery, Surgical Sciences, Vascular Surgery, Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, including the Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) group, and Plastic, Maxillofacial, and Oral Surgery. The SoCR also provides support to “float” staff between divisions.
