On April 29, 2025, Sarah Kim, MD, PhD, a PGY-4 otolaryngology resident and R25 research scholar at Duke University in Durham, NC, was honored with a Technician Support Award from the Office of Physician-Scientist Development and the School of Medicine.
This prestigious award is designed to support the research endeavors of early-career physician-scientists as they transition back to clinical activities. It provides essential funding for technician support, enabling recipients to continue their research while managing clinical responsibilities.
The NIH R25 Otolaryngology Surgeon Scientist Track Program at Duke University offers a structured environment to foster the career development of surgeon-scientists. The program leverages a broad range of research opportunities and excellent mentors spanning basic, translational, and clinical research to tailor the program to each candidate’s specific research interests. Brad Goldstein, MD, PhD, serves as the Research Track Director, and Howard Francis, MD, MBA, serves as Co-Director.
Congratulations to Sarah Kim on this well-deserved honor, which reflects the high quality of her work in the Head and Neck Surgery & Communication Sciences department and its NIH R25 Otolaryngology Surgeon Scientist Track Program.
