The Physician Advisory Council (PAC) at Duke Health Integrated Practice (DHIP) is a pivotal initiative designed to foster bidirectional communication and feedback between DHIP physicians and leadership.
Ralph Abi Hachem, MD has been selected to represent the department of Head and Neck Surgery & Communications Sciences at PAC.
This council serves as a structured platform to amplify the voices of clinically active physicians, ensuring their insights and concerns are integral to the decision-making process. The primary purpose of the PAC is to enhance the engagement and input of DHIP physicians. By providing a formalized structure for communication, the PAC aims to bridge the gap between clinical practice and administrative leadership.
Dr. Abi earned his Doctor of Medicine from Saint Joseph University in Lebanon. After completing a residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and a year of research at the University of Miami, he pursued a clinical fellowship in Advanced Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery at The Ohio State University’s Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He joined Duke Head and Neck Surgery & Communication Sciences as an Assistant Professor in 2016 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2022. Since 2020, Dr. Abi has served as the director of the Duke Skull Base Program and is also the co-director of the Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery fellowship.
“It's an incredible honor to have your trust in representing you at the PAC. Your confidence energizes me. I’m committed to maintaining open and transparent communication, ensuring that our voices are heard, and aligning our interests with those of the organization.”
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Abi!
