Duke HNS&CS Faculty, Residents, & Medical Students Participate in AAOHNS and ARS

On September 27th- October 2, the Duke Head and Neck Surgery & Communication Sciences (HNS&CS) faculty, residents, and medical students showcased research presentations and participated in expert panels at the annual American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Meeting (AAOHNS) and 70th Annual Meeting of the American Rhinologic Society (ARS) in Miami, Florida.

Our PGY-5 Rolvix H. Patterson, III, MD, MPH, and PGY-1 Joshua Wright, MBBS, received the AAOHNS Best in Show award for Best in Care Equity, Quality, and Safety poster for their presentation, “Defining a Global Otolaryngology Workforce Target.”

Dr. Emily Commesso, MD, received the Best in Sleep Medicine award for her poster, “Administration of Perioperative Celecoxib Reduces Opioid Consumption After Soft Palate Surgery for Obstructive Sleep Apnea.”
