The Duke University Postdoctoral Research Training in Surgical Oncology Training Grant has 3 positions available for 2-year research fellowships. Candidates must have an MD or equivalent degree and be in good standing or have completed a clinical training program that supports eligibility for certification in General Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Urology, Head and Neck Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Neurosurgery, or an ACGME-approved surgical subspecialty. Candidates must be US citizens or permanent residents.
The Duke Postdoctoral Research Training in Surgical Oncology Program will develop surgeons and perioperative physicians into physician-scientists, a critical element of the multidisciplinary approach needed to investigate novel approaches to cancer. Full-time stipends for these fellowship positions are supported by a National Cancer Institute T32 training grant. Trainee stipends are fixed by the National Institutes of Health and vary depending on the number of years of experience following doctoral degree.
