Clinical and Research Interests

My interests remain varied at this stage. Past clinical and research experience has focused on free flap surgery outcomes, but I look forward to exploring more areas during residency.

What were you looking for in a residency program?

I was looking for a great group of residents and faculty, who support and educate one another, and that I could see myself working closely with. I also wanted a program that balanced clinical/operative experience with academics and diverse research opportunities.

What are the strengths of the Duke program?

The residents - this is a great group of people who make the stress of residency more bearable by helping each other out, and forming true friendships outside of just work relationships.

What advice do you have for incoming interns?

Make time to do the things that you love to do outside the hospital.

What do you like best about living in Durham and the Triangle?

There is a great mix of things to do, whether you prefer nice restaurants and bars, live music, or spending time in the great outdoors, it's all nearby.

What do you like to do outside of Duke?

My favorite pastime since starting at Duke has been to get out to the Eno River or Umstead State Parks for a nice hike or trail run.
