Rotations

As part of our educational mission, Duke Speech Pathology offers a year-long clinical fellowship (CF) position to speech-language pathologists who are pursuing certification by obtaining their Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Duke provides each CF with a mentor who will collaboratively work with them to follow the ASHA standards of certification and provide rigorous supervision, skill development, and documentation of requirements.

The Duke Speech Pathology program offers the ability for new graduates to apply their academic training in acute care, outpatient, and clinic settings in pediatric or adult programs that serve medically complex patients with a variety of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Our speech pathologists work closely with multidisciplinary teams of health care professionals, use state-of-the-art equipment and technology, and participate in a variety of specialty clinics including ALS Clinic, Autism Clinic, Cleft and Craniofacial Board, Down Syndrome Clinic, and Special Infant Care Clinic.
